  Recycling is the process of turning used materials into new products. It's a key part of modern waste reduction and the "Reuse, Reduce and Recycle" waste hierarchy. If so, it's cleaned, refurbished and hard drives are erased in accordance with DOD standards. Equipment is then resold to consumers or companies or donated for reuse.  3. Finally, all other unrecycleable equipment is reduced or broken down into it's core component parts and base materials. All tags and stickers are removed and it is separated before it is sold to reprocessors or other carefully screened, buyers who will salvage certain materials or commodities because of their intrinsic value or hazardous nature.
